Human Trafficking Awareness

Soroptimist International of Bend and Soroptimist International of the Americas recognize a serious and immediate need to raise awareness of the human trafficking crisis in our communities. January is anti-human trafficking month, but our effort is year-round. Be mindful of the industries where labor trafficking is most common, and ensure you are not accidently supporting this illegal and harmful practice.

Human Trafficking is more prevalent than you think

  • For every 10 trafficking victims identified globally, five are adult women and two are girls.

  • The total number of trafficked individuals is unknown, but estimates range from 28 million to 50 million globally.

  • This crime is often underreported and hard to track as it is the second-largest worldwide criminal enterprise.

January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month. Please join us by taking the pledge to spread awareness and combat the practice of human trafficking in all of it’s forms. #SoroptimistsUpliftHER
